Each year, an outstanding individual is selected by a committee of business and community leaders, including past Citizens, to recognize their dedicated contributions to the region's civic and business community. Hamilton's legacy of generosity and leadership make him a deserving Citizen of the Year, with his impact resonating throughout Southeastern Connecticut for years to come. 

Jeffrey (Jeff) Hamilton has served as the President and General Manager of Mohegan Sun since January of 2020. He is a member of the Mohegan Tribe, a proud member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, and a member of the State of Connecticut Tourism Council. Hamilton is also on the board for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (CT chapter), a member of the Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) State of CT Advisory Council and a board member for the Governors Prevention Partnership of CT.
