Ribbon Cutting for Leadership ECT Patio Project at UCP

Monday, June 30, 2025 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Join United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Eastern Connecticut for their ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate their newly renovated outdoor patio, a project implemented by the Leadership ECT Class of 2026 and supported in part by The Home Depot Foundation. The event, held in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT, will celebrate the completion of a new outdoor nature and sensory experience for visitors and residents of UCP's Adult Day Program.

The 1,181-square foot space features an inviting garden and outdoor seating area, including a concrete patio and sidewalk, raised flower beds, and 550 square feet of growing space. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the installation, learn about the beneficial programs that UCP offers our community, and meet the members of the Leadership ECT Class of 2026 and the planning process behind this impactful project.

About Leadership ECT Program:

In operation since 1987, the Chamber’s Leadership Eastern CT Program prepares promising leaders for positions of responsibility by acquainting them with significant community processes and pressing issues. Participants engage in discussions with established leaders, go behind-the-scenes at the region’s key institutions, build their leadership skills, create a lasting network of contacts, and give back to the community with a meaningful group project. This year's class project was funded in part by The Home Depot Foundation and its volunteers.

About United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Eastern CT:

Established in 1947, UCP is celebrating 15 years of successful independent living and is one of the largest health non-profits in the nation, serving individuals with disabilities of all kinds across Windham, New London, Middlesex, and New Haven Counties.
