Description

Strengthening Eastern Connecticut’s Energy Resilience (Virtual Forum)

Overview:
The winter of 2026 brought record-breaking snowfall and extended periods of extreme cold—conditions that put extraordinary pressure on New England’s energy infrastructure. These challenges underscored the urgent need for a more resilient natural gas system, particularly in eastern Connecticut, where employers, institutions, and municipalities rely heavily on stable energy to sustain operations.

To address these concerns and discuss regional preparedness efforts, the Chamber of Commerce invites you to a virtual information session featuring Seth Krueger, Vice President of Gas Engineering at Eversource. He will share updates on the Southeast Gas Resiliency program, a major initiative aimed at bolstering the reliability of the Yankee Gas distribution system that serves our region.

This session is essential for understanding what’s at stake and how collaborative planning can help avert future energy crises.

Why Attend?

  • Learn about the Southeast Gas Resiliency program and what it means for the region
  • Understand the risks highlighted by the severe 2026 winter
  • Hear directly from Eversource leadership about planned improvements
  • Engage in a crucial discussion about protecting the region’s energy future

This session is FREE and open to all Chamber members. Participants will receive the Zoom link in advance of the event.
