CMEEC is currently seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Billing Accountant within the Finance and Accounting Department.  This position’s primary responsibility is preparation of, and accounting for, billing invoices.  The position requires the ability to analyze contracted financial obligations to apply to billings, demonstrate a high level of accuracy, and have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with general ledger software and financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly billing for all customers.
  • Development of processes and tools needed to effectively and efficiently produce monthly billings that are 100% accurate.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and post entries to general ledger accounts.
  • Distributes expenditures, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
  • Reviews contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow
  • Regular and Special power contract financial obligation analysis 
  • Functional area ownership and maintenance of records and retention according to regulatory and organization retention schedule
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Position Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus 2 to 4 years of experience
  • Proficient in the entire Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Microsoft Business Central Accounting Software experience a plus

Working Conditions

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand at a desk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to talk or to hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or to walk and reach with hands and arms.

Salary

Commensurate with knowledge and experience.
