18th Annual Walk to End Homelessness

Join us for Southeast Connecticut’s 18th Annual Walk to End Homelessness on Sunday, April 27, at Parade Plaza in downtown New London. Registration starts at noon, with the walk commencing at 1 p.m. The event, organized by Connecticut College and the New London Homeless Hospitality Center, aims to raise awareness about homelessness and gather support for the center's programs, which help hundreds of our community members each year get home.

Connecticut College is the event's premier sponsor. Yale New Haven Health/Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut are silver sponsors. These organizations, steadfast in their support, are joined by several other generous sponsors. It's anticipated to attract hundreds of participants. Activities kick off at noon with registration, information booths, and entertainment by local band, Dogbite. 

The walk will feature remarks from community leaders before embarking on a 1.5-mile route through downtown New London and nearby neighborhoods, passing by landmarks and social service agencies. The New London Homeless Hospitality Center, founded in 2006, provides emergency shelter and support services to adults experiencing homelessness in New London County. It strives to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
