New London NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner

Greetings on behalf of the New London Branch of the NAACP!

The New London Branch of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) will host its Annual Freedom Fund Dinner, on Friday June 29th at 6:00 pm – 9 pm. This year’s event will be at Ocean Beach, located at 98 Neptune Avenue, New London, CT 06320. The theme for this year is “The Fierce Urgency of Now.” 

We are honored to welcome Commissioner Ronnell A. Higgins, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, a distinguished leader in public safety and community engagement, as our keynote speaker. 

Join us as we recognize these outstanding individuals for their leadership, dedication, and contributions to education, equity, community service and notable achievements. 

• Dr. Aram deKoven Chief Culture and Climate Officer (formerly), U.S. Coast Guard Academy 
• Dr. Stanley Beckford Academic Advisor, Three Rivers Community College
• Chief David Burton Chief of Police, Groton City Police Department

Tickets are available for $75 until June 25, 2025, and attendees are encouraged to support the NAACP through sponsorships or donations.
