Photographer and creative storyteller Debbie McGrath invites the community to an evening of inspiration, art, and connection at the official launch of her debut coffee table book, Other People’s Chairs, on June 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the Oasis Room at the Garde Arts Center. 

Blending photography, personal reflections, stories, and quotes, Other People’s Chairs captures quiet moments and meaningful perspectives discovered through McGrath’s lens and life experiences. The collection invites readers to pause, notice, and connect with the shared humanity found in everyday spaces — symbolized through something as simple and universal as a chair. 

Event highlights include: •A signed copy of Other People’s Chairs •Music for the evening provided by DJ JAYPO •Light refreshments •Cash bar available •Opportunities for conversation and connection with the author 

Select framed and printed photographs featured in the book will be available for purchase for one night only, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Garde Arts Center’s P:ACE (Partners: Arts. Community. Education.) programs, the organization’s signature initiative connecting arts organizations, schools, and social-service partners to expand access to live performances and cinematic experiences for students, families, and underserved members of the community.

About the Author - Debbie McGrath is a Connecticut-based creative whose work blends photography, reflection, and storytelling. Other People’s Chairs is her first published book and represents a deeply personal collection of images and insights gathered over years of observation, travel, and lived experience.
