The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) is pleased to announce that Avelo Airlines is launching year-round, nonstop service between Bradley International Airport (BDL) and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ). Flights between BDL and PUJ will begin on February 21, 2025, and operate twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays. The new nonstop service to Punta Cana comes after Avelo launched its first-ever international flights in November from BDL to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico. “We are pleased to have Avelo add another international destination from Bradley International Airport,” said Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E., Executive Director of the CAA. “We look forward to the start of the new service to Punta Cana, which builds upon our commitment to offer travelers more convenience to popular, nonstop destinations.” In addition to its international destinations, Avelo currently flies from BDL domestically to Charlotte/Concord, NC (USA), Daytona Beach, FL (DAB), Houston, TX (HOU), Orlando/Lakeland, FL (LAL) and Wilmington, NC (ILM). “We are excited to introduce a third exclusive international nonstop destination for Connecticut travelers,” said Andrew Levy, Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO. “With the addition of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, travelers now have even more choices on Avelo from BDL. With eight nonstop destinations from Hartford, Avelo is making travel a more convenient, affordable and reliable experience than ever.” For video/photos of Avelo Airlines at BDL for broadcast and print use, please visit BDL’s Media Gallery.
