The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is pleased to introduce Reworld™ (SECONN) Southeastern Connecticut as a 2025 Regional Benefactor. Formerly known as Covanta, Reworld™ who operates the SECONN Thermomechanical Treatment Facility in Preston, Connecticut, is paving the way for sustainability with businesses, governments, and communities. Using waste-to-energy treatment at the facility located on a 33-acre parcel off Route 12 (formally owned by the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Resources Recovery Authority), Reworld™ recovers energy from trash, reduces emissions during the burning process, and enhances the recycling of metals and other materials. Annually, the site avoids 41 million tons of greenhouse gases with the usage of steam-generated omissions.
