Courtesy of the Office of Governor Ned Lamont. Gov. Ned Lamont announced Jeffrey Beckham will step down as secretary of the Office of Policy and Management Dec. 5. The Governor is nominating Joshua Wojcik to serve as Beckham’s successor. Fiscal Stability Beckham worked alongside Lamont since 2022. During that time, the state passed its largest income tax cut in its history. He has also been a key player in defending Connecticut’s fiscal guardrails that have helped pay down years of deficits. “Over the last several years, Jeff has been a trusted advisor, not just for me but for all of our state agency heads, and his work has helped ensure that our state offices are operating in a coordinated manner and that taxpayer funding is being used wisely and efficiently,” Lamont said. “During Jeff’s tenure at OPM, Connecticut made a dramatic turnaround with its fiscal management, ushering in a new era of fiscal stability that has resulted in numerous financial agencies delivering credit rating upgrades the state has not seen in decades.” Gov. Wojcik has been working as the director of health care policy and benefits at the Office of the State Comptroller since 2022, responsible for overseeing the state employee health plan as well as launching new initiatives and operations. Before that, he spent a decade as assistant comptroller and policy director. “Moving forward, the challenges may change, but the priorities remain the same—meeting the needs of Connecticut residents with budgets built for long-term sustainability.” Joshua Wojcik Wojcik will serve as interim OPM secretary following Beckham’s departure. Lamont will formally submit his nomination to the General Assembly in February.
