Each year the Stonington Community Center (COMO) distributes thousands of dollars in scholarship funds to Stonington residents to help them achieve their educational goals. The scholarship application period is open now. Applications can be submitted online this year at thecomo.org/scholarships. There are seven scholarships available including, the Josh Piver Memorial Fund, the Francis Drake Endowment Fund, the Robert and Doris Ramsbotham Scholarship Endowment Fund, the Frank Turek Scholarship Endowment Fund, the Mary H. Boatwright Endowment Fund, the Whitman Award Scholarship, and the Beth-Ann Stewart Arts & Pottery Scholarship. The COMO is proud to administer scholarship funds to help support the continuing education of Stonington’s youth. About The Stonington Community Center The Stonington Community Center, fondly known as the COMO, was founded in 1945, as a nonprofit with the goals of strengthening families and community. Over the years the COMO’s 16-acre campus has grown to include its own classrooms, Thrift Shop, four decoTurf tennis courts, pottery studio, paddle tennis facility, and athletic fields.
