Connecticut’s State Troubadour and Poet Laureate are ambassadors of the arts. These inspiring artists are nominated by Connecticut residents and evaluated by a peer panel for their distinction within their fields, portfolios of work, and contributions to the arts community. Connecticut State Poet Laureate The CT State Poet Laureate promotes poetry and literature throughout Connecticut. They are important poetry champions and they work to inspire the next generation of poets and readers. Responsibilities: Review the Program Guidelines including Eligibility and Timeline here. Nomination Process: Any Connecticut resident may nominate one eligible poet who embodies the characteristics of the Poet Laureate role. Please note that people cannot nominate themselves and we do not give this award posthumously.
