Cucina Al Pantheon Launches “Art on Main” Series with Opening Exhibition “Transformations” by Jennifer Sarafin

Entertainment

Cucina Al Pantheon, Mystic’s premier destination for elevated Italian dining, is proud to announce the launch of “Art on Main,” a new curated art series celebrating local and regional artists. The inaugural event will take place on Sunday, May 31st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, featuring the opening exhibition, “Transformations,” by Connecticut-based artist Jennifer Sarafin. The evening will offer guests an immersive cultural experience, blending fine art with Cucina Al Pantheon’s signature hospitality. Attendees will enjoy live music, curated wines, and passed hors d’oeuvres while exploring Sarafin’s work, which will be displayed throughout the restaurant and available for purchase.

Jennifer Sarafin is an accomplished artist, photographer, and educator whose work explores deeply layered narratives of identity, perception, and transformation. A graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston at Tufts University, Sarafin has exhibited in notable venues including The Harvard Bookstore Café, the Medici Society MFA group show, RJ Julia Bookstore, and Wave Gallery. Her work combines painting, photography, drawing, and found materials to create richly textured pieces that examine themes of suburban female identity, mental illness, and trauma—while also reflecting on resilience, destruction, and the possibility of renewal. Adding a personal dimension to the exhibition, Sarafin shares a long-standing connection with Cucina Al Pantheon’s Allen Staigers, who was once her student in art class years ago—making this opening not only a celebration of artistic achievement, but also a full-circle moment rooted in mentorship and community.

“Art on Main” reflects Cucina Al Pantheon’s commitment to being more than just a restaurant—it is a community gathering space where art, culture, and cuisine intersect. This series brings together the elements that define the experience: exceptional food, compelling art, and unforgettable moments.

The exhibition will remain on display following opening night, allowing guests to experience and purchase artwork during regular dining hours.
