Eastern Regional Tourism District Announces $80,000 in Available Marketing Grants

Regional Marketing Partnership Program Marks Seventh Year, Surpassing Half a Million Dollars in Direct Tourism Funding

The Eastern Regional Tourism District (ERTD) is now accepting applications for its Regional Marketing Partnership Program, offering grants of up to $10,000 for marketing projects that will promote tourism across the 41-town region of eastern Connecticut.

The program provides essential one-to-one matching funds for eligible organizations. A total of $80,000 has been allocated by the Office of Statewide Marketing and Tourism (SWMT) to fund the 2026 program, which is now in its seventh year. The deadline to apply is January 9, 2026, at 5 p.m.

There will be a Live Q&A Session on Zoom, Friday, Dec. 5 at noon to answer any questions about the program.

Program Impact and Success

This funding round follows a period of exceptional growth, highlighted by the program officially crossing the half-a-million-dollar threshold in direct financial support for the region’s tourism sector. Since the program’s inception in 2020:

  • Total Grant Funding: The ERTD has awarded $521,267 in grant funds.

  • Total Investment: With required matching funds, the program has generated a total investment of nearly one million dollars ($991,901) in regional tourism marketing.

  • Reach: The funding has been distributed among 77 grantees across the region.

“The success of this program is a testament to the power of collaboration across our 41 towns,” said Chris Regan, Chair of the District. “What started as a shared vision is now a proven model for success. This program has effectively leveraged state dollars to amplify the unique appeal of Eastern Connecticut, and we are committed to seeing that growth continue.”

Application Focus

ERTD invites organizations of all sizes to submit proposals that focus on marketing eastern Connecticut’s tourism economy, encourage the safe enjoyment of the region's tourism opportunities, and prioritize collaboration and partnerships.

“We are eager to partner with organizations, both large and small, that bring fresh, creative ideas to the table,” added Nikki Cabrera, Chair of the Grants Committee. “By working together, we can forge new partnerships, develop compelling marketing strategies, and ensure the beauty and excitement of Eastern Connecticut reaches visitors from all walks of life.”
