From Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Musical to Snarky Puppy, Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts Continues its Diverse 70th Anniversary Season

Entertainment

Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on the UConn Storrs Campus will continue to celebrate its 70th anniversary season with a schedule of entertainment from chamber music, classical music, Americana, and Celtic music to rock ‘n’ roll and contemporary dance.

The Winter/Spring 2026 season will open on Sunday, February 8 with the family musical Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Musical based on the beloved children’s book, followed by The Seven Wonders: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac on Saturday, February 14.

The Lenard Chamber Music Series will include performances by The Ulysses Quartet, Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason, and The Ruckus Ensemble.

Special performances will include Natalie MacMaster, Donnell Leahy & The Celtic All-Stars on Friday, March 6; Ladysmith Black Mambazo on Saturday, March 28; and Women of Americana: A Celebration of American Music on Saturday, April 11.

“The second half of our 70th anniversary season has something for everyone,” said Rodney Rock, Jorgensen Director. “The special tribute shows continue in honor of the 70th anniversary of the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll with a tribute to Fleetwood Mac – The Seven Wonders on Valentine’s Day (Feb 14).  Ladysmith Black Mambazo returns to Storrs for the fifth time.

Dance continues with BODYTRAFFIC (Feb 18); and of course, we will host more world-renowned artists as part of the Lenard Chamber Music Series, including Ruckus, the baroque ensemble (Feb 20), Ulysses Quartet (Mar 3) and Sheku and Isata Kanneh Mason (Mar 14).

We’ve also got an incredible exhibition coming to Jorgensen Gallery this spring – “Music for Your Eyes” – featuring works by UConn alum Preston Trombly ‘68. You can read more about the exhibition and Jorgensen events on the new Jorgensen website (Jorgensen.uconn.edu).”
