Governor Lamont and Secretary Beckham Statements on January 2025 Consensus Revenue Forecast

Governor Ned Lamont and Office of Policy and Management Secretary Jeffrey Beckham released the following statements regarding the January 2025 consensus revenue forecast that was jointly issued today by the Office of Policy and Management and the Office of Fiscal Analysis:

“This forecast shows the strength of Connecticut’s economy as revenues remain strong across the board,” Governor Lamont said. “In a couple of weeks, I will present to the legislature my proposed budget for fiscal years 2026 and 2027, which will build on the investments we have made over the past six years and continue to improve affordability and opportunities for Connecticut residents. It is because of the sound fiscal management of these last several years that these new investments are possible.”

“The January consensus revenue forecast is an important checkpoint as we finalize Governor Lamont’s budget proposal, and it is encouraging that revenue remains stable,” Secretary Beckham said. “Other states are not as well off as Connecticut and have experienced declines in various revenue types, resulting in difficult decisions regarding tax increases or cuts to services.”
