The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, led by Council Chairman Rodney Butler, has made a substantial $25,000 donation to The Arc Eastern Connecticut to support programs that empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across eastern Connecticut.

The gift will strengthen The Arc ECT’s community-based services, advocacy initiatives, and inclusion efforts that help people with IDD live with dignity, independence, and full equality in their communities.

“We are deeply grateful to Chairman Butler and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation for this extraordinary show of support,” said Kathleen Stauffer, CEO of The Arc ECT. “This contribution is more than a financial gift—it is a powerful affirmation of the value and potential of the people we serve. It sends a message of respect, compassion, and shared commitment to building a more inclusive region.”

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has a long history of investing in community well-being throughout eastern Connecticut. This latest contribution reflects the Tribe’s continued leadership in supporting organizations that advance equity, opportunity, and quality of life for underserved populations.

“The impact of this donation is deeply personal,” Stauffer added. “With this gift, more people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will have access to the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to thrive.”
