Built by more than 1,000 local union workers, project expected to power 350,000+ homes with affordable, reliable electricity

RHODE ISLAND / CONNECTICUT – March 13, 2026 – Revolution Wind, LLC, a 50/50 joint venture between Global Infrastructure Partners’ Skyborn Renewables and Ørsted, announced today that the Revolution Wind project has started delivering power to New England's electric grid, strengthening the region’s power supply and helping reduce costs for consumers.

Revolution Wind, a 704 MW offshore wind energy project, is expected to supply enough electricity to power more than 350,000 homes and businesses. The project will deliver power under fixed-price, 20-year agreements with energy utilities in Rhode Island and Connecticut, providing price certainty and stability for consumers.

At a time of rising electricity demand, Revolution Wind supports a growing regional economy, including energy-intensive industries such as manufacturing and data centers. Once the project reaches full commercial operations, analysis from the State of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection finds that Revolution Wind will save New England ratepayers as much as $500 million per year in wholesale energy costs.

Revolution Wind is expected to generate energy year-round, with particularly strong output expected in the winter months, when energy supplies into New England can be constrained and prices can spike. ISO New England, the entity responsible for operating the electric grid, has noted the importance of offshore wind energy projects including Revolution Wind to the region’s grid reliability, particularly in winter.

Revolution Wind has supported more than 2,000 workers across U.S. construction, operations, shipping, and manufacturing, including more than 1,000 local union labor workers logging more than 2 million hours on the project. Across its U.S. offshore projects, Ørsted is investing nearly $700 million into domestic shipbuilding and vessel contracts, catalyzing construction of 14 new, American-made vessels.

“Revolution Wind is adding affordable, reliable American-made energy to New England’s grid, helping to meet growing energy demand and lower consumer costs,” said Amanda Dasch, Chief Development Officer at Ørsted. “Built by local, highly skilled union workers, Revolution Wind is a testament to states tapping their energy resources to strengthen regional energy security and contribute to American energy dominance. By producing more power here at home, we reduce dependence on imports, create local jobs, and support long-term economic growth. We’re grateful to the leadership of Rhode Island and Connecticut, our labor partners, utility customers, and the many other stakeholders whose collaboration has made this milestone possible.”

“The first power from Revolution Wind comes at a critical time for our region, as recent extreme cold temperatures have underscored how important it is to bring every reliable energy source online for customers. This project adds essential new supply that enhances grid reliability, meets growing demand, and ensures dependable power when our customers need it most,” said Eversource Chairman, President and CEO Joe Nolan. “We’re proud to have led construction of the project’s onshore substation and transmission infrastructure, work that supported hundreds of skilled union trades jobs and now carries this important new source of energy to the homes and businesses that depend on it. Today’s accomplishment proves what’s possible when partnership, perseverance, and purpose come together.”

“Bringing the first power from Revolution Wind online is a truly meaningful step for Rhode Island and the region,” said Greg Cornett, President of Rhode Island Energy. “At a time when resources are needed more than ever, this project adds important diversity to our energy mix and contributes added capacity to support the reliability our customers expect, particularly during periods of high demand. We appreciate the collaboration that has brought the project to this stage and will continue working with our partners to ensure customers receive safe, reliable, and affordable service.”

Facts on Revolution Wind

Overview:

· Revolution Wind is a fully-permitted 704 MW energy-generation project that will power more than 350,000 homes in Connecticut and Rhode Island with affordable, fixed-price electricity for decades.

· On March 13, 2026, Revolution Wind delivered its first power to New England’s grid, adding to the region’s electricity supply.

· Revolution Wind is 93% complete.

Affordability / Reliability:

·By supplying reliable, year-round electricity at less than 10 cents per kWh, Revolution Wind is expected to save ratepayers half a billion dollars per year, according to an analysis by CT’s energy agency.

·As New England’s energy demand grows, Revolution Wind will support a growing economy, including regional manufacturing and data centers.

·Output at Northeast offshore wind projects like Revolution Wind is typically strongest during winter months, when energy supplies into New England are often constrained and wholesale prices can spike. With its free fuel (the wind) and fixed offtake price, Revolution Wind will help lower wholesale energy costs in the region.

·ISO New England, the region’s non-partisan grid operator, has included Revolution Wind in its near-term and future modeling and analyses to ensure adequate electricity supplies.

· ISO-NE stated on December 22nd that canceling Revolution Wind and Vineyard Wind “will increase costs and risks to reliability in our region. Beyond reliability impacts, delays to new generating resources would also adversely affect New England’s economy and industrial growth, including potential future data centers.”

Jobs:

·Revolution Wind has supported thousands of American jobs across construction, operations, shipping, and manufacturing, including more than 1,000 union jobs that have already logged more than 2 million hours on this project.

· Revolution Wind is being built out of Connecticut’s New London State Pier, with operations staff based in Quonset, Rhode Island, using U.S.-built vessels such as the ECO Edison to access the project offshore.

The South Fork Wind Example:

·Now in its second year of commercial operations, South Fork Wind is a reliable, year-round generator, achieving a net 46.3% capacity factor in 2025 as it delivers energy for Long Island, NY.

· In January 2026 alone, South Fork Wind delivered a net 52% capacity factor, with several days exceeding 80% output – precisely when Long Island’s energy system needs power most.

· Revolution Wind is in a near-identical location to South Fork Wind and can expect similar performance.
