Sails Up 4 Cancer Golf Tournament Announces Michael Cavanaugh Memorial Golf Tournament

On September 19th, Sails Up 4 Cancer will hold the Michael Cavanaugh Memorial Golf Tournament at Pequot Golf Club, 127 Wheeler Road, Stonington, CT. This tournament is in memory of Michael Cavanaugh who fought valiantly against ALS. 

Ultimately, losing the battle, Mike passed in 2017. He passed away peacefully after a 6 years with ALS. Mike lived his last years to the fullest with dignity and grace. He was fluent in three languages and worked as a Nuclear Engineer in Texas and Connecticut. Mike was passionate about life, new experiences and the people around him. He truly lived life to the fullest and did not fear new experiences. He was a creative genius, problem solver, a writer, a great storyteller, an artist, devoted husband, son, brother and uncle. Prior to his passing, he was an avid golfer and sailor and a strong supporter of Sails Up 4 Cancer.

Come raise funds for Sails Up 4 Cancer and ALS United-Connecticut on September 19 at 12:30 pm at Pequot Golf Club in Stonington. With opportunities for mulligans, ‘string it out’ to get you closer to the pin, and a silent auction, this day is filled with fun for a purpose!
