SBA Announces Economic Injury Disaster Loans for New London/Windham County Businesses

Did the Feb 22-25 blizzard reduce your revenue for your small business or non-profit?

Two Connecticut counties, New London and Windham, are included in a Rhode Island Disaster Declaration #21640 as contiguous counties. The declaration covers the historic snowstorms occurring February 22-24, 2026. 

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) to help eligible small businesses, private non-profits, small agricultural cooperatives, and aquaculture businesses with working capital needs due to economic losses from the blizzard.

ü  Interest rates are 4% for small businesses, 3.625% for nonprofits

ü  No payments required for the first 12 months

ü  No interest accrues during the first 12 months

ü  Loan terms up to 30 years
