SCORE Welcomes New Members to Eastern Connecticut Chapte

OLD SAYBROOK, CT -- Katherine Bazinet, Betsy Pollak, and Greg Mickelson have joined the Eastern Connecticut chapter of SCORE, a national organization that provides free mentoring to start-ups and existing small businesses.

"It’s exciting to have new members like Katherine, Betsy and Greg join SCORE,” noted Margo Weitekamp, Chair of the Eastern Connecticut chapter of SCORE. “They each bring a wealth of business knowledge and experience that will help small businesses grow in our region.”

Katherine Bazinet is from Westbrook, CT and is a Fairfield University graduate with a BS in

Finance. She is currently completing her MBA at the University of Connecticut. She spent her 40-year career at IBM in Enterprise Software as a sales engineering manager and has expertise in customer relation management, business plan development, marketing, sales, software, and nonprofits.

Betsy Pollak resides in Old Saybrook, CT. She earned her BA in Economics and Art History from Clark University followed by advanced marketing programs at Baruch College Business School. With 35 years of experience as the owner of her own business, she brings to SCORE her experience in retail marketing, advertising, customer resource management, website development, and digital media.

Greg Mickelson lives in Guilford, CT and received his BS in Chemical Engineering from UCONN followed by 13 years at Fortune 50 companies P&G and GE where he also earned his MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Later in in his career, he was the CEO of small to mid-size manufacturing companies and his own consulting practice mentoring business owners and providing executive recruitment.

“Each of these new members will be working with other SCORE volunteers, passing on their business knowledge and experience to help existing businesses and the next generation of entrepreneurs succeed,” noted Margo Weitekamp. “It’s a great way to give back to our communities. SCORE is in the business of helping make small business dreams come true."
