Shea Trust Supports TVCCA's New London Senior Nutrition Service

The James P. & Mary E. Shea Perpetual Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, continued its ongoing support of people in need in New London through its 2026 award of $5,000 to Thames Valley Council for Community Action’s Senior Nutrition program. In addition to delivering Meals on Wheels, along with wellness checks, to homebound seniors, the program serves congregate lunches daily to active elders at the Broad Street Senior Center, and monthly to residents at four senior housing sites.

“Growing old is no easy task, especially for seniors determined to remain independent and live in their own homes,” noted TVCCA’s Director of Senior Nutrition Eugene Theroux. “Our programs help seniorsage in place with two evidence-based, cost-effective, and compassionate services that address theirnutritional and social needs.”

TVCCA’s nutrition programs receive only a portion of their required funding from state and federal sources; “We rely on great community partners like Shea Trust to help ensure that we can delivermeals to every New London senior who needs our service,” added Mr. Theroux.
