Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on the UConn campus in Storrs will launch a vibrant Fall season celebrating music, magic, and imagination with an exciting lineup of internationally acclaimed artists and unforgettable live performances. The season opens on September 25 with multiple Grammy Award winner Pat Metheny and his new ensemble, Side-Eye III+, appearing as part of their international tour in support of their self-titled album released earlier this year. Other highlights include Rufus Wainwright's WANTED: Judy Garland concert; Hocus Pocus Live, a hilarious parody musical; ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro; Coco in Concert Live to Film; Catapult: Magic Shadows; Rubberband Dance Group; Punch Brothers; and a festive holiday cabaret featuring the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, led by conductor Keith Lockhart. The Lenard Chamber Music Series will feature performances by the Grammy-nominated British vocal ensemble VOCES8, Amsterdam-based Camerata RCO (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), and the Callisto Quartet, recently named Bowers Program Artists-in-Residence at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. "This diverse season celebrates creativity in all its forms," said Rodney Rock, Director of Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts. "Audiences will experience breathtaking dance, unforgettable voices, family-friendly spectacles, the return of cherished holiday traditions, and extraordinary artists who continue to redefine the possibilities of live performance."
