Tox Brewing Company is proud to partner with the Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) to host Zero Proof: A SCADD Social, a family-friendly fundraising event scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. at Tox Brewing, New London. The event is part of SCADD’s 60th anniversary celebration, marking six decades of providing compassionate, community-based substance use treatment and recovery support throughout Southeastern Connecticut. Zero Proof: A SCADD Social is designed to bring the community together in support of recovery, wellness, and connection, while highlighting inclusive, alcohol-free social options. The afternoon will feature local vendors, family-friendly activities, and a variety of creative non-alcoholic beverages from Tox Brewing’s coffee shop and soda counter. As part of the fundraising effort, Tox Brewing will donate 5% of food proceeds and 10% of beverage proceeds (including coffee) generated during the event directly to SCADD. In addition, throughout the month following the event, Tox Brewing will continue its support by donating a portion of proceeds from several signature non-alcoholic drinks, with options available from both the coffee shop and soda counter. “Tox has always been about community, not just beer,” said Dayne Laskey, owner of Tox Brewing Company. “Zero Proof is a way to celebrate and support SCADD’s decades of work and create a space that’s welcoming to everyone, whether alcohol is part of their social life or not.” SCADD has been a cornerstone of substance use treatment in Southeastern Connecticut since 1966, providing a continuum of programs and services that support individuals and families on their recovery journeys. “As SCADD celebrates 60 years of new beginnings, partnerships like this remind us how far we’ve come and how important community support remains,” said Stacey Lawton, CEO of SCADD. “Zero Proof reflects our belief that recovery-centered spaces can be welcoming, inclusive, and joyful. We are deeply grateful to Tox Brewing for helping us honor this milestone while raising awareness and critical support for the services that change lives every day.” Zero Proof: A SCADD Social offers an opportunity for community members to celebrate SCADD’s legacy while supporting its mission for the future. Businesses and individuals interested in hosting a fundraiser in support of SCADD’s 60th year are urged to contact Jessica French at jessicafrench@scadd.org to be part of the effort to raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding addiction and recovery, and ensure life-changing services remain available for generations to come.
