Over 100 community leaders, partners and supporters gathered on March 14th at Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford to celebrate Thames Valley Council for Community Action’s 60 years of service to eastern Connecticut. State legislators, partner agencies and municipal representatives praised TVCCA’s commitment to providing a wide variety of services to those in need, including housing/homelessness prevention, energy assistance, early childhood education, employment assistance, senior nutrition, WIC, and family support programs. The fundraising evening was made possible through the support of sponsors including Norwich Public Utilities, Dime Bank, Nutmeg Consulting, IMA Financial, Ascend Bank, NFP, Mohegan Sun, and Centreville Bank. TVCCA CEO Josh Kelly thanked attendees for their continued partnership and support, emphasizing that community involvement remains central to the agency’s mission. “As a community action agency, we rely on the voices and participation of the people we serve and the communities we work in,” Kelly said. “By listening to residents and working alongside our partners, we can better understand and address the real and immediate challenges facing families in our region.” Norwich City Mayor Swarnjit Singh, one of the evening’s honored guests, presented a proclamation praising TVCCA’s many years of service and designating March 16-21 “TVCCA Week” in Norwich.
