Dime Bank has awarded Thames Valley Council for Community Action $3,500 to maintain its Emergency Client Assistance Fund, which allows case managers to quickly resolve an array of financial setbacks faced by low-income households. “We’re so grateful for Dime Bank’s support of this fund each year,” said Jason Martin, TVCCA’s Director of Community Services. “Many of the people we support are suddenly confronted with financial emergency, and a single unanticipated expense can be disastrous to an individual’s or a family’s security.” The grant will provide emergency assistance for approximately ten struggling households (25-30 individuals) over the next 12 months. “The purpose of this fund is to furnish just enough assistance at just the right time to help people maintain momentum and continue their progress towards economic independence,” noted Martin. “Dime Bank’s support of this program is crucial to the success that many families achieve because of that extra assistance.” For more information about TVCCA’s programs helping our neighbors throughout eastern Connecticut, please call Community Services at (860) 889-1365 or visit tvcca.org.
