Regina Brady, Director of Thames Valley Council for Community Action’s WIC program, has accepted the position of Director of the agency’s new Family Bridge universal home visiting program—the second in the state--to begin in select areas in January 2025 and serving post-partum women and their families. A veteran of TVCCA since 2017, Ms. Brady holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and brings to the new position a wealth of experience in providing services and supports to families over a 30-year career that has included the oversight of WIC programs in three states as well as teaching K-3rd grade in the public school system. “This position supports my passion for connecting families with the services they need,” says Ms. Brady. “I love working with external partners to make everyone aware of the services that are available for their clients. And this is a critical time—for mothers, babies, and the whole family.” The Family Bridge Program Director will be responsible for launching and overseeing the program and staff of nurses and Community Health Workers, and providing outreach and information to area partners including OB/GYN providers, health centers and health districts, military partners, tribal nations, and Backus Hospital during the first phase of the project’s operation in Norwich, Griswold, Lisbon, Montville, Windham/Willimantic, Mohegan Tribal Nation, and Mashantucket Tribal Nation. “I love what I do, and I take my role as a public servant very seriously,” notes Ms. Brady. “With Family Bridge, it’s not like you come to an office and there’s one service provided for you. We come to you, and we provide you with as much as you need.” For more information on TVCCA’s Family Bridge program and TVCCA’s other programs helping people in need in eastern Connecticut, please visit www.tvcca.org.
