U.S. Coast Guard Band Welcomes Alumni for Centennial Celebration


On Sunday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m. in Leamy Hall, the United States Coast Guard Band and director, Captain Adam R. Williamson, packs the stage with alumni for a spectacular concert commemorating its 100th Anniversary! With specia lappearances by former directors Captain Lewis Buckley, USCG (Ret.), Captain Kenneth Megan, USCG (Ret.), vocalists Megan Weiklenget, Dr. Lisa Williamson, and MU1 Allison Landstedt, this historic event is one for the ages.

The expansive program explores The Band’s vibrant past and promising future with nostalgic favorites and contemporary hits, alike. Works by Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, William Bolcom, John Philip Sousa, Eric Whitacre, Gala Flagello, Archibald Joyce, Stephen Sondheim, Tchaikovsky and others are performed by an All-star ensemble made up of alumni and current members.

This event is free and open to the public. Leamy Hall is located on the grounds of The U.S. Coast Guard Academy at 15 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT, 06320. A valid “REAL ID” must be presented for entry. For those who cannot attend in person, this concert is streamed live on our YouTube Channel beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
