UConn’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts presents Disney’s Moana Live-To-Film Concert Fri, Oct 10

Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on the UConn Storrs campus will present Disney’s Moana Live-To-Film Concert on Friday, October 10 at 7 p.m. Pre-show children’s activities will take place at 6 p.m. in the main lobbies. 

Produced by Disney Concerts and AMP Worldwide, the event will feature a full-length screening of the beloved movie accompanied by live performances of a unique on-stage musical ensemble of top Hollywood studio musicians, Polynesian rhythm masters and vocalists, celebrating the music and songs from this award-winning Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic.

About the Movie:

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discoveringthe many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped — and no one knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping film about an adventurousteenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (AuliʻiCravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become amaster wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encounteringenormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Some flashing lights sequences or patterns may affect photosensitive viewers.

Tickets for this event are $20 for children (under 12) and $25 for adults (with some discounts available). Tickets can be purchased on the Jorgensen website, jorgensen.uconn.edu. Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts is located at 2132 Hillside Road on the UConn campus in Storrs. The Box Office is open Mon – Fri, 10 am to 5 pm.
