Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center (DPNC) is excited to announce the return of Mr. Bill’s Woodland Ramble, with additions of a timed trail race and a guided plant tour through the Nature Center trails, taking place on Saturday, May 30. The trail race portion of the event is in cooperation with Kelley’s Pace, and the guided walk is led by plant expert Jim Natale of Wilder Gardens, LLC. Representatives from Topo Athletic, Altra, and Saucony will be offering trail shoe demos for anyone to try. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the race kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Following the Ramble, there will be an awards ceremony, light food and drink, and appearances by DPNC’s Animal Ambassadors: rehabilitated animals, including birds of prey, that help educate the public about wildlife. The event is leashed dog-friendly and perfect for families. The Ramble takes place along natural trails and bridged water crossings. Entry fees support DPNC’s work in the community, including wildlife rehabilitation, environmental education programs, feeding the food-insecure through the Giving Garden, trail maintenance, and habitat restoration.
