Chelsea Groton Executive Vice President Jennifer Pensa Named New England Women in Banking Honoree

Chelsea Groton Bank’s Jennifer Pensa, EVP, Chief Innovation Officer, was amongst a group of 14 distinguished women named a Banking New England’s 2020 New England Women in Banking award recipient.

“Banking New England asked readers and banking professionals to nominate women deserving of the New England Women in Banking award. We set out to find the most talented, ambitious, innovative and philanthropic women who are achieving excellence and making a difference in these traditionally male-dominated industries,” explained Beverly Bolnick, Associate Publisher, Banking New England.

“Since Jenn joined the Chelsea Groton team, she has shown her commitment to the mission of the Bank, which is to help customers and communities achieve their specific goals by taking them on as if they were our own. Jenn is a leader and a motivator, and is committed to empowering her team members to grow in their roles, in order for the Bank to best serve our members,” said Michael Rauh, President and CEO of Chelsea Groton Bank. “This honor is well-deserved.”

The nomination written about Jennifer noted the impact she had on Chelsea Groton Bank in a very short time: “Jennifer has used her leadership and vision to create a cohesive and collaborative force that has helped Chelsea Groton grow, innovate and manage risk all at the same time. One of the crowning achievements that Jennifer has led was the conversion to a virtual, cloud-based work environment for all team members. This project required a significant amount of time, resources, persistence and vision to complete, and the significance of this accomplishment was fully realized in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. When COVID-19 began to take hold of our area, thanks to Chelsea Groton’s virtual environment, the Bank was able to operate at full capacity while safely distancing from one another, servicing members without interruption in a time of crisis.”

Jennifer invests herself fully in the success of the members of her team and challenges team members to learn new things and think with a greater vision. She is also an active volunteer in her community, serving on government boards and teaching Bank-sponsored “Chelsea University” community education classes in the community.
