Eastern CT and Southern Rhode Island Wireless Zone hosting Annual Holiday Food Drive

Nation’s Largest Wireless Retail Franchise to Help

Wireless Zone - the nation’s largest wireless retail franchise offering exclusive Verizon products and services - is now collecting monetary donations and non-perishable food items for their Annual Holiday Food Drive. 100% of the money collected goes to purchasing food for those in need, and furthermore, Wireless Zone matches what they collect making the donations go even further!

Over the years, Wireless Zone has donated to the Gemma Moran United Way Food Bank, Interfaith Human Services of Putnam (part of Connecticut Food Bank), and Johnny Cake Center of Westerly. Providing food and supplies to countless families in and around these areas.

“Last year, our Food Bank distributed the equivalent of more than 1.8 million meals and snacks through 79 distribution sites including food pantries, shelters, childcare centers, community meal sites, programs for the elderly, and our Mobile Food Pantry at no cost to those in need. More than 19,000 men, women and children are helped through these sites each month.” - Gemma Moran United Way Food Bank.

Amidst the recent COVID-19 pandemic, donations are encouraged now more than ever. Wireless Zone supports families and those in need, recognizing that individuals might be struggling during these unprecedented times.

Customers coming to the store can be reassured that Wireless Zone is taking all necessary precautions. Locations have glass shields up on the desks, are practicing social distancing, and are cleaning everything in store frequently throughout the day.

Donations are being collected now through November 25 and are taking place at all seven Wireless Zone stores located throughout CT: North Windham, Glastonbury, Putnam, New London, Groton, and also in Westerly, RI. This group is all locally owned and operated.

Owners Neil Ryan and Scott Gladstone have a long history of giving back to the community through the Wireless Zone. Gladstone is “Super proud of our team for always seeking ways to help our community. And Ryan is “Super proud of our team for stepping up and taking care of their community!”

Supporters of the Annual Holiday Food Drive are encouraged to use the hashtags #WZGivesBack and #UnitedWay on Facebook to help us spread the word.
