New Live Music Venue and Event Space Opens at Rocks 21

A special grand opening extravaganza of a new event space, bar, and live music venue at Rocks 21 restaurant will be held this weekend.

Called Room 245, the newly renovated space with beautiful outdoor views of the Mystic Harbor, will open with a three-day weekend celebration, Friday, Sept. 22; Saturday, Sept. 23; and Sunday, Sept. 24. The new venue is on the ground level of popular Rocks 21 restaurant, located at 3 Williams Ave. in Mystic. Besides food, drink, live music and DJ’s, Room 245 will offer an event space for private parties and celebrations.

This newly opened spot has quickly become a favorite place to watch NFL football, with its multiple big screens and outdoor spaces for drinking and eating. It’s the next best thing to tailgating!

The 3-day grand opening will be filled with festivities, including food and drink specials and giveaways all weekend.

Room 245 offers the best of both worlds, and is the perfect complement to its sister venue, Rocks 21. After a delicious dinner upstairs at Rocks 21, make sure to head downstairs for the hottest live music acts and DJs in the region.

The genesis of the name Room 245 is as interesting as the room itself. During construction, management unearthed hotel rooms from the original Inn at Mystic and found a marker for room "245.”

Room 245’s views are beautiful and the space can be enjoyed inside as well as on two large outdoor patios overlooking the Mystic Harbor. Even when it is not outdoor weather, there’s an open-air feel to the space all year round.

“We’ve accomplished something very unique here,” said Manager Chris Roth. “We offer much more than just great dining and a lively bar with water views. We have the best in entertainment and space for celebrations and private parties, all under one roof.”

During the three-day event, there will be a daily drawing. Enter to win a romantic getaway at the Inn at Mystic and Rocks 21.

Friday night is comedy night. Comedians will be Krystal Dyer and Paul Taro, who will perform from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Saturday there will be live music with a special guest appearances.

Sunday is Family Fun Day from 1 to 5 p.m., with ice cream, food trucks, popcorn, bubble tea, snow cones, an obstacle course, carnival games, many other games, the Mystic Fire Department, and much more.
