The Connecticut Walks to End Alzheimer’s will continue, and instead of hosting large gatherings, the Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging people to walk as individuals or in small groups on sidewalks, tracks and trails across our state.
This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be The Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter is pleased to announce that Liz Shilosky will Chair the 2020 Eastern CT Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
“This is personal for me, as with many others. I’ve lost my mom and grandfather to this disease and currently have a sibling fighting the battle,” Shilosky says. “I’ve seen up close what this does to families and caregivers financially, physically and emotionally.”
A retired nurse who spent much of her career in memory care management, Shilosky volunteers Southington, CT – The Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter is holding its annual New London Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 16th at Ocean Beach Park., 98 Neptune Avenue, New London, CT. This family-friendly event includes a 2 mile walk as well as light refreshments. All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Registration will begin at 8am on September 16th, with the official ceremony
