ConnectiCare, a leading health plan in Connecticut, recently celebrated the grand opening of its fifth ConnectiCare center in Shelton. The new Shelton center is replacing its Bridgeport location and will have more space to better serve members. To help participants stay safe, the 3rd annual ConnectiCare Gran Fondo is being hosted virtually. During the entire month of September, participants of all ages and skill levels are welcome to cycle, walk, or run.

On Tuesday, June 23, Operation Shower in collaboration with ConnectiCare and the Travelers Championship hosted a drive-through baby shower for 39 military moms-to-be. The special event, usually held at the TPC River Highlands during the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, was redesigned this year to adhere to the state and local health department safety guidelines and social distancing protocols.

ConnectiCare, one of the region’s leading health plans, recently launched its “Peace of Mind” initiative to provide members with additional support during the coronavirus pandemic. The event honors the memory of Gordon Keller, a local triathlete who lost his life in a tragic accident while on a training ride. Eric Galvin has been named Chair of United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut’s 2019 Community Campaign.
Galvin is President of ConnectiCare, with more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry. In his new role as Chair, he’ll serve on United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut’s Board of Directors.

This past Saturday, June 8, the ConnectiCare Center in Manchester hosted their annual Hartford Yard Goats Fan Fest. Yard Goat players, Ashton Goudeau (#17) and Jordan Foley (#31), greeted fans of all ages during the celebration. Attendees were also able to play with adorable mini goats from Circle K Farms and the team’s mascot. ConnectiCare is proud to support the Hartford Yard Goats’ goal of bringing family fun to our capitol city. On Thursday, June 6, ConnectiCare employees cheered for local officers participating in the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run as they passed their headquarters in Farmington, CT.
Over the years, The Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run has become the largest fund-raising event for the Special Olympics of Connecticut, raising awareness of the need for acceptance and inclusion of those with intellectual disabilities.
Last week, students from West Woods Upper Elementary School and Bike Friendly Farmington celebrated Bike to School Day with a ride along the Farmington Trail.
Since ConnectiCare’s headquarters are located on the bike route, the health insurer sent a group of employees to cheer on the students and their own Neil Kelsey, Vice President and Chief Actuary for ConnectiCare, who is involved with Bike Friendly Farmington and joined the students for the ride.
