The Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra became the national orchestra of Bulgaria in 1945 and has long established itself as one of the leading cultural institutions, representative of the overall contemporary musical culture of the country. Under the baton of Principal Conductor Christo Pavlov, the Orchestra takes the stage at UConn’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, February 12 (7:30 pm) as part of their 2023-2024 U.S. Tour.
The repertoire of the Sofia Philharmonic comprises works ranging Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts will livestream four performances this fall on their new virtual platform, Jorgensen Digital Stage. The platform was created over the summer in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
