An Evening of Remembrance hosted by Sound Community ServicesNew London, CT (October 25, 2021) – You are cordially invited to join and support our community by illuminating the night with An Evening of Remembrance event hosted by Sound Community Services on Friday, November 5th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in downtown New London at the Whales Tail.
This evening of remembrance will bring support to the many who are struggling, lost a loved one, and those that may be grieving and seeking a sign of support from
The AXS Center, a part of Sound Community Services Young Adult Services (YAS) located in New London, is a community program that is tailored to assist young adults with emotional, mental health, substance abuse issues/concerns, etc. Our young adults are between the ages of 18-25 years old and their philosophy is centered around building positive relationships through education, recreation, and community partnerships to enhance the quality of life of Southeastern Connecticut’s young adult population.
One The month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Sound Community Services, Inc. and The Lefty Cycles Project, Inc. are collaborating together to help our Sound Community Services clients and our residential programs. Founded by Dylan Howley in June 2020, The Lefty Cycles Project, Inc. mission states, “Our mission is to perpetuate, manifest, deliver and apply Goodness to our Recovering community by delivering bicycles for transportation, exercise, hobby, or sport. We are extremely passionate about our Sound Community Services is thinking outside the box when it comes to Thanksgiving this year for its clients. Before COVID-19, Sound Community Services gathered 150 – 200 people together consisting of their clients, their families, and staff to Mitchell College in New London for a Thanksgiving feast. Food was catered by Mitchell College, the food was served by staff, music would play, and prizes would be handed out. It was a moment in time that staff and clients looked forward to each year and were thankful
It has become all too commonplace to hear chief executive officers boast that their company is a “great place to work.” The statement is thrown around so often that you can seldom take it seriously.
