The state should enact online gaming legislation and do so in a way that protects the
New Haven and Uncasville, CT (Dec. 8, 2020) – Yale New Haven Health, the Mohegan Tribe and Mohegan Sun have announced a new community COVID-19 collection site in the Mohegan Sun Thames Garage.
The drive-through site was selected to provide more community testing in the Uncasville region, but also to allow Mohegan Sun team and Tribal members access to fast, safe COVID-19 testing. The Thames Garage location is open to the public and Mohegan team members by appointment only.
The new Yale New Haven Health As the Mohegan Tribe has reopened portions of their reservation, including the Mohegan Sun entertainment destination, new safety protocols and operating procedures have been established to protect guests and employees. Working to ensure not only the physical but also the mental health of their guests, Mohegan Sun has recommitted support for the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG), continuing a decades-long partnership. This support comes in the form of annual funding and partial sponsorship of Grants support programs that benefit children and families in Eastern CT
The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Foundation awarded grants in excess of $94,000 in support of 37 programs that benefit children and families in the region on March 24, 2020.
“At this critical time for many nonprofits, the Foundation worked to swiftly disburse funds to the recipients,” said Tony Sheridan, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. “The Board members did a wonderful job of making ready the Norwich, CT - Norwich Arts Center held its annual meeting on Wednesday, January 22 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Norwich. During the meeting a vote was held for the 2020-2021 slate of officers. They are as follows: Kristen Nickerson, President; Faye Ringel, Vice President; Thomas Keaney, Treasurer and Patricia LaPierre, Secretary. Kris Nickerson, a Senior Accounts Manager for the Hartford Business Journal in Hartford, is a Norwich resident and has been on the Norwich Arts Center Board of Directors since The public is invited to join the Mohegan Tribe at their annual Mohegan Wigwam Festival at Fort Shantok, Village of Uncas, on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18 from 10 am to 7 pm.
