“I’m excited and I can’t wait to see it get off the ground and in motion,” Avery Point Director of Campus Operations Janene Vandi says. “We’ve been in the planning stages for a while now, and I’m ready to take the next step. I really want to get the word out that this resource is here."

The Alexey von Schlippe Gallery at UConn, Avery Point is proud to announce its summer art exhibition: Open Air: An Exhibition of Sculpture and Installation Art. The exhibition was developed as a response to this unusual time of limited public activity. Open Air has two components: Open Air by Day, which offers an exhibition of outdoor The University of Connecticut Avery Point recognized 12 students during its “Week of Warriors” initiative from May 4-8. The stories of each individual student, all of whom are making a significant impact in their community during the COVID-19 pandemic, were shared on the school’s social media platforms.

Sierra Jennings The University of Connecticut Avery Point welcomes all local youngsters to attend a free reading party on Feb. 29 in support of the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day.
The event will run from 1-4 p.m. at the Branford House and the Student Center with live readings, games, crafts and a host of activities for children young and old. Each child will also be given a free book at the event. The exhibition will be open to the general public and campus community from 12-4 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October 24, 2019 through January 5, 2020 (excluding Nov. 28 and 29).
