City of Groton, August 18, 2024 – The City of Groton has released a promotional video aimed at showcasing its unique history, business-friendly atmosphere, tourism highlights, and overall quality of life for its residents. The video comes as a culmination of a years-long re-branding initiative that the City undertook, with the assistance of Miranda Creative, to help differentiate itself from nearby Town of Groton.

The summer is right around the corner and so is our Concerts in the Park music series for 2024. We have an exciting schedule of bands this year, packed with all-time favorites along with a couple of bands new to the park. We hope you will join us and enjoy them all.

March came in like a lion for Miranda Creative. In one exciting week, we were honored with not just one but two prestigious awards celebrating our commitment to excellence, innovation, and community impact.
First, we are delighted to share that Miranda Creative has been recognized as the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce’s 2023 Small Business of the Year. This honor is particularly meaningful to us because it highlights the collective effort of our entire team and the impact we’ve had on our local The City of Groton and Groton Utilities are happy to announce the concert schedule for the 2024 City Cabaret concert series.
City Cabaret is a series of indoor concerts which start in January each year. These concerts are held in an intimate setting that gives spectators an opportunity to see smaller musical groups, allowing for a more-up close and personal experience.
All concerts are held on Sundays and are performed at the City of Groton Municipal Building Auditorium. Concerts begin at 3:00 p.m. and On Monday, November 30th the City of Groton and Groton Utilities, along with the Connecticut Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Drinking Water Section, held a virtual celebration to mark completion of a crucial phase of Groton Utilities’ water treatment plant construction project. With completion of phase three (out of five) of the plant rollout, water is now being clarified and filtered within the new water treatment plant.
The new filtration plant replaces a plant that was originally constructed in As we get deeper into the winter the City of Groton Cabaret 2020 Concert Series is going full-throttle with its third band of the series – Azalea Drive. Azalea Drive is one of the most popular bands in the region, playing at all sorts of venues throughout the area over the years. And now we have the distinct pleasure of having them play for us on Sunday, February 9th in the City of Groton Auditorium beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Robert E. Fitch High School is seeking 6 business professionals to volunteer to interview students.
The students are gearing up for their final exams. For Shelly O’Neal-Kegler’s Cooperative Work Experience class, she is hoping to have community members do mock interviews for them. The students' grade will depend on different pieces of the process (i.e. resume, cover letter, interview, dress). Interview schedules:

“Southeastern CT is rich with history and the Thames River Heritage Park will play a GROTON - The sounds of the band Rewind will be featured this week at Concerts in the Park 2017 on Friday (July 7, 2017) at Washington Park in the City of Groton.
Rewind is a six-piece band consisting of digital drums, two keyboards, guitar, percussion and bass. The group features strong vocals while performing the classic hits of groups like Journey, Doobies, Eagles, Billy Joel, Springsteen and many more.
